Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has reiterated that the central government is committed to build a wide range of infrastructures in order to reduce economic discrepancies between regions.

President Jokowi attended the 72nd anniversary of Muslim Students Association (HMI) at HMI Alumni Advisory Board chairman Akbar Tandjung's home on Tuesday. They talked about various issues during the event.

"We don't only build large infrastructures. We also build small infrastructures," President Jokowi said.

Indonesia will hold the first ever simultaneous general and presidential elections in April 17. Voters will elect the president and lawmakers on the same day.

The second presidential debate will take place at Sultan Hotel in Central Jakarta on February 17. Candidates will discuss about infrastructure, natural resources, environment, agriculture and energy

"I support his re-election bid. That is my personal decision," Akbar said.
